Hope Effect Day School, in partnership with MorningStar Church, opened on January 3rd, 2017, with the intent of seeking Gold Seal Accreditation as soon as possible.

Our preschool program will be a full-time program, serving working families in our surrounding community. We  offer services for children age 1-4 years old, and all 4 of our classrooms will be safe, engaging environments in which children can reach their full potential academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. We are offering a part-time morning option if needed to meet the needs of the community.

CURRICULUM OBJECTIVES

Here at HEDS we believe that play is the work of a child. Learning through play and authentic, quality interaction is key for the young learner. With this in mind, our classrooms are center-based and blend child-initiated activities with teacher-directed activities and free art. The daily lessons will allow children to learn through fun, engaging, hands-on experiences. In addition, children will be introduced to the Christian faith through Bible teaching, worship music, and prayer time on a daily basis. We will also attend chapel each week.

Research confirms that children learn best through play and through making their own choices in the classroom. We will encourage exploration and discovery to help cultivate a love of learning that will flow at the child’s pace as much as possible. Our curriculum will follow the natural progress of age-appropriate development for preschool children.

Benefits of early education:

  • The most important growth and development in the brain happens by the age of five.
  • The early years are the learning years. A child’s ability to be attentive and follow directions emerges in the early years. Structured early learning fosters these abilities for later success in school and in life.
  • Pre-K prepares children to be ready for school. Children who participate in high-quality, early childhood education programs develop better language skills, score higher in school-readiness tests, have better social skills, and have fewer behavioral problems once they enter school.
  • Pre-K children are better prepared for Kindergarten, especially in the areas of pre-reading, pre-math, and social skills.
